About WLUSA

WLUSA consists of nearly 486 support staff employees at WLU, most of whom are women.

We are the front-line people who provide the services students need over the course of their programs. Students will meet us whenever they:

  • seek housing assistance
  • register for classes
  • seek academic counselling
  • pay tuition
  • apply for student assistance
  • buy books and supplies
  • research projects in the library
  • go to Health Services
  • work out at the gym
  • use computing services
  • get lab instruction
  • work at part-time jobs on campus
  • prepare for class presentations
  • arrange for co-op job placements
  • book rooms for meetings or social events on campus

These are just a few of the possibilities.

Many of us work “behind-the-scenes,” providing the infrastructure that keeps WLU alive. You'll find us in public relations, information technology, media technology, accounting, payroll, distance education, fundraising, alumni relations, mail services, publishing, printing, piano tuning, working with faculty, and so on.

Don't hesitate to ask us anything you need to know, either about the university or about our association.

WLUSA is an independent union certified under the Labour Relations Act.

The university works because we do.
